SUMMARY:Well-being in the Workplace: Leadership for all Generations
DESCRIPTION:Course Content: \nIn this workshop\, you will learn about the intersection between generational research and trauma-informed care in our workforce.  As leaders\, we must be aware this is the first time in our nation’s history that five generations are represented in the workforce at the same time.  We will explore what this means for us as leaders.  In this workshop\, you will review how different generations may perceive the world based on the era in which they were born.  Using a framework of a trauma-informed approach to the workforce\, we will identify how members of different generations may approach issues\, develop relationships with their employers\, or exhibit different work styles.  We will focus on ways to build leadership and organizational development through gaining cultural competency in generations and practicing cultural humility to learn more about each other’s perspectives.  We will also learn about the impact technology has had through the generations and what ways this impacts communication. \nIf interested in registering for this event. SUMMARY:May - Geauga Economic Leadership (G.E.L)
DESCRIPTION:  \nEmily Nash: Disease and Death in 19th century Geauga County \nThe program focuses on pioneer/settler Emily Nash who traveled by wagon train to the Western Reserve (Geauga Co) in 1813. Traveling from Massachusetts to Troy\, Geauga County\, the Nash family were some of the first settlers in Ohio.  Emily Nash kept a lengthy journal where she described births\, deaths\, and historic events in Ohio and the nation.  Nash provides insight to early nineteenth century medical practices and diseases affecting Geauga County. These events are an opportunity to bring business and industry leaders together with our community to network\, learn\, and collaborate. Each event is intended to foster a heightened awareness of business\, industry\, and public services present in Geauga County and to facilitate networking among the members of those sectors.
