At Geauga Growth Partnership, we support those people. The Healthcare Sector Partnership brings together hospitals, schools, and community organizations to strengthen the healthcare workforce in Geauga County.
When we support caregivers, we strengthen care for everyone.

 

Why It Matters

Healthcare providers across Geauga County face a growing challenge. Finding enough trained workers to meet community needs.

The Geauga Healthcare Sector Partnership helps solve that problem. We create clear pathways for students, job seekers, and professionals to enter and grow in healthcare careers. You get a stronger workforce. Patients get better care.

Our work focuses on people:

  • Students exploring their first healthcare job
  • Adults returning to school for new education and credentials
  • Employees who need training, mentorship, or support to stay in their roles
  • We build opportunity around them so they can build care around us

 

What We Do

The Geauga Healthcare Sector Partnership connects partners who are faced with similar challenges in attracting and retaining future nursing staff. Initial partners include University Hospitals Geauga, Judson Senior Living, Kent State University Geauga Campus, and the Area 19 Workforce Development Board.

Together, we envision a future for Geauga County where:

  • Healthcare education and career pathways start in local schools
  • Training and scholarships are made available to help people earn healthcare credentials
  • Workforce training and mentorship for employees is provided onsite for local healthcare organizations
  • Wellness programs, that reduce burnout and improve retention, are offered to employees

You get access to tools, resources, and caring people who want to help your organization grow and your team thrive.

 

The Impact

Vision

A workforce ready to thrive, equipped with the resources they need to succeed, and surrounded by a community that believes in their future. This will be accomplished by leveraging partnerships with private sector employers and educational institutions to address workforce challenges and build a scalable model for the engaged partners and the region at large.

This work was established in January 2025 with the receipt of a grant from the Ohio Department of Development. To date, local community members have donated a total of $13,500 to support the Geauga Healthcare Sector Partnership.
