Our Chardon 6th graders learned about entrepreneurship firsthand on December 4th! Local entrepreneurs were stationed in separate rooms while 142 students rotated in small groups throughout the 90-minute event. Students spent approximately 20 minutes with each entrepreneur across rotations, allowing for focused and meaningful interactions.

Each session included time for an overview, as entrepreneurs shared basics about their businesses, how they produce or acquire materials, who their clients are, and how they develop and promote their ideas within their business, followed by lively Q&A. Students were highly engaged throughout the sessions and asked plenty of thoughtful questions, demonstrating strong interest and curiosity. This hands-on experience gave students real-world insight into entrepreneurship while building critical thinking, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Thank you to our wonderful entrepreneur volunteers, Chardon teachers, and everyone who helped make this such a valuable learning experience for our students!

Partnering with the GGP team for this event was a fantastic experience. They were easy to work with, highly organized, and always readily available to answer questions throughout the planning process. They also connected us with local entrepreneurs we would not have been able to access on our own, which made the experience even more meaningful for our students.

They worked closely with us to shift the format this year from a panel of experts to individual rooms with student rotations, which made the learning far more interactive and engaging. Using a note guide and Question Board Bingo helped focus students on our 6th grade social studies economics standards and kept them actively involved in each session.

This was truly the best entrepreneurship experience we have had so far. Our students were engaged, curious, and able to make strong real-world connections thanks to the thoughtful planning and collaboration behind this event.
