Geauga Economic Leadership Breakfast (G.E.L.) – May 2026

John holds a degree in Computer Science and a focus of study in Business & Marketing from Cleveland State University. His passion for lakes and ponds began in 1983, when he began working for the small family company that would one day become AQUA DOC. In 1989 John purchased the company from founder William P. Cloonan and has grown AQUA DOC into the industry leader it is today. To this day, John’s hands-on involvement with his company has not changed and he can still be found on the many lakes and ponds AQUA DOC manages and meeting with clients.
John and the AQUA DOC Team have been recognized by the Lake-Geauga Fast Track 50 for eight consecutive years as one of Lake and Geauga County’s fastest growing companies and Case Western Reserve Weatherhead School of Management’s Weatherhead 100 as one of the fastest growing companies in the State of Ohio. John is an active member of NALMS; North American Lake Management Society, MAPMS; Midwest Aquatic Plant Management Society, CAI; Community Associations Institute, OLMS; Ohio Lake Management Society, APMS; Aquatic Plant Management Society, AERF; Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Foundation, and RISE; Responsibility for Sound Environment.
When John is not out on the waters, he is spending quality time with his wife of thirty-two years, Jeanine and their two children, Maddie and Johnny III. John’s hobbies include playing hockey and baseball, and can often be found attending sporting events from the local Kirtland High School football game to the World Series.

Join us for the May Geauga Economic Leadership (G.E.L.) breakfast on Friday, May 1, 2026, co-sponsored by Geauga Growth Partnership and Kent State University at Geauga. This monthly breakfast series brings together local business, nonprofit, and community leaders to network, learn, and collaborate while fostering awareness of the people, services, and opportunities shaping our region.

These events are an opportunity to bring business and industry leaders together with our community to network, learn, and collaborate. Each event is intended to foster a heightened awareness of business, industry, and public services present in Geauga County and to facilitate networking among the members of those sectors. Anyone working or living in Geauga County will benefit from learning more about our local employers and services.

Geauga Growth Partnership Board of Directors is dedicated to providing a positive and respectful environment for all event and training participants. GGP employees, members, guests of members, attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers are expected to observe high standards of behavior and personal ethics in their conduct at any GGP event or training.

Anyone engaging in inappropriate behavior during these events or trainings will be asked by a GGP representative to discontinue the offensive behavior immediately. Should the behavior continue or if the behavior is deemed severe enough, the individual(s) will be removed from the event or training (without a refund) and may be denied entry to future events or trainings.
