Our West G students turned a day of fun into a dynamic, real-world business learning experience during their field trip to RollHouse Solon. This hands-on excursion brought classroom concepts to life through engaging conversations with local business partners and interactive learning opportunities.

The experience made a strong impression on both students and their teacher.

I was extremely pleased with the field trip provided to my West Geauga High School Introduction to Business students by GGP and the Roll House of Solon. Both organizations went above and beyond to develop a program around state learning objectives to make it both a meaningful learning experience and also a fun time for the students. The kids raved about it being there best field trip ever.

Building a Brand: Sales, Advertising & Public Relations

Students explored how businesses develop and sustain strong brand identities through marketing, customer engagement, and public relations. Using RollHouse as a case study, they examined how companies position themselves in a competitive entertainment market and attract repeat customers. From social media strategy to in-person customer service, students saw how every interaction shapes a company’s reputation and success.

Navigating Regulatory Compliance

Students gained insight into how businesses balance creativity and growth with regulatory requirements. RollHouse shared how entertainment venues manage safety standards, health codes, and industry regulations while still delivering a fun, high-quality customer experience.

Understanding Supply Chain Management

Geauga-based Ferroni’s Cafe and Bakery brought supply chain concepts to life by sharing their farm-to-table journey. Students learned how ingredients are sourced, inventory is managed, production is scheduled, and products are delivered while maintaining quality and managing costs.

Adapting Through Business Agility

RollHouse demonstrated the importance of innovation and adaptability in today’s market, introducing students to their water-based, non-staining GEL Blaster experience as an example of how businesses respond to emerging trends and differentiate themselves from competitors.

After engaging in discussions, students enjoyed lunch and bowling social time, allowing students to build relationships, practice teamwork, and strengthen connections creating a memorable experience that reinforced the real-world relevance of their education.

A huge thank you to RollHouse Solon and Ferroni’s Cafe and Bakery for their partnership and for providing learning opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom!
